6: What is the Lithosphere? Where is it located? The Lithosphere encases the entire earth but broken into pieces or plates that button against one another. It is located in the crust and outer mantel.
7: What is the Asthenosphere? Why is it important to plate tectonics? The Asthenosphere is squishy, it can deform and flow though extremely slowly. It is important because the heat from the core of the earth rises into the asthenosphere and stirs it into sluggish motion.
